INVITATION TO BID CHEYNEY UNIVERSITY of PENNSYLVANIA CU-2025-01: Ada George Dining Hall Roof Replacement Cheyney University of the PA State System of Higher Education invites General Contractors (Roofing) to download bid documents for this project. Work included under this Project consists of roof replacement at Georges Ada Dining Hall located at Cheyney University 1837 Township Drive, Cheyney, PA 19319. The scope of work includes the complete removal of the existing built-up roofing system down to the roof deck, including associated flashings, trim, and copings. A new 60 mil EPDM single-ply roofing system will be installed, incorporating recovery board, base ply, and polyisocyanurate insulation, covering approximately 30,000 square feet. A portion of the existing roof deck will be removed and replaced as noted. Work also includes replacing interior drain bodies, installing new roof drains with tapered sumps, replacing aluminum fascia with pre-manufactured fascia, and installing new parapet wall coping and stainless-steel counter flashing. New scuppers and downspouts will be added. Existing rooftop equipment will be raised and reinstalled to accommodate the new roof system. Additionally, the existing roof access door sills will be raised, and a new door, frame and hardware will be installed in a modified existing opening. The contractor shall review and coordinate the roof system specifications with the manufacturer. A Pre-Bid Conference, with site visit to follow, will be held on June 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Cheyney University in the Ada George Dining Hall Ball Room located in Cheyney Pa. Questions regarding this project shall be submitted via the “Ask a Question” feature in PennBid. Responses to questions which require changes to the Bidding Documents will be posted on PennBid. Bidders who have registered with and downloaded documents for this project from PennBid will be notified by email when a change or addenda has been posted. PennBid provides bid privacy, security and supplier confidentiality, while streamlining the overall procurement process. Although all solicitations are available for public viewing, interested suppliers need to register to be able to submit a bid. PennBid does not charge a fee to register, however it does charge a modest capped fee of 1/3% for fixed contracts or 1/6% of contract value (+ tax) for term contracts if you are awarded a contract through this platform. There is a minimum award fee of $100 and a maximum of $5,000.
